On my travels around the district, you have expressed that you don't feel represented in Congress, that your opinions don't count. I have heard you say that you don't know who represents you. In the 24th district, we must join together as a team if we want to succeed in changing our representation in Congress, to get that truly caring individual who really does want to be there for all the people, not just the few...We must unite, not by a party or political label but under a common goal as citizens of this great district. For too long there has been this cloud of disappointment and apathy hanging over us. This is the time and this is the year.

Dear Marta,

As a member of a great consumer protection group called "Public Citizen" (that works on a grassroots level supported by donations from concerned citizens of this country), I was just reading their latest newsletter (Public Citizen News; Vol. 28, No. 5; September/October, 2008) In it they published a Congressional Scorecard for 2007-2008 which shows how each and every Congressperson voted on major and important environmental and consumer protection bills over that period of time. Mr. Galleghey voted the wrong way on 7 out of 10 of these important pieces of legislation, a pathetic 30% scorecard! Like so many of his Republican cronies, they have the very lowest scores for protecting their constituents and our environment. They are short sighted and callous when it come to spending any of "OUR MONEY" to PROTECT US AND PLANET EARTH.

I am so glad that you are running to unseat this lousy politician who represents the Corporate interests over the interests of the people time and time again. Of course, he wants to "Drill, Baby, Drill" off of our beautiful coastline, where beaches and tourism is the life blood of our economy. He is one of the many disastrous people in Congress who needs replacing. Good luck to you and your wonderful Progressive, Sustainable ideas for the future of our state and our country, Democracy and Freedom.
