Welcome to Town Hall 2.0.
When the Founders of the United States of America created our system of government, they envisioned a House of Representatives that was filled with people who accurately represented the citizens of each Congressional District. George Washington, among others, believed that our Congress has a moral obligation to listen to the citizens of the country and to work in their best interest.
Please join the discussion right here. How can our government best serve and represent you right here in the 24th? On each issue page, you’ll find a brief position statement to get the conversation started. The power of the internet today changes that. We have our town hall right here. Select one of the issues above and join the conversation.
Here are some ground rules for our Town Hall:
Respect other people. This is a place to discuss the issues, not to attack people. Any comments that are personal attacks will be removed for the sake of a civil discussion about policies. Please feel free to disagree with me or another commenter, but the disagreement should focus on the content of the policy discussion, not the person leaving the comment.
Find the common ground. What can we agree on as a community? We all want what’s best for our country and our neighborhoods. It can be easy to get trapped by a single word or phrase. We can rise above that as we learn about the diversity of opinions within our community by trying to discover the intent and meaning behind the words.
